This is a stylish and attractive performer that incorporates a lot of televisio-specific technology and it made by a company with a lengthy and successful history in television manufacturing.
The SX68KF7 is a 68cm television with a flat picture tube that's been given anti-reflection and anti-static treatments.
It's pretty much standard fare in appearance for 68cm CTVs on the local market, but a big selling point with the SX68KF7 is its audio system, which uses a pseudo surround system fronted by twin-driver speaker systems with a rated 20 watts RMS of driving power behind them.
The sound spatialiser effect is designed to enhance sound tracks and musical concerts, while the sound keeper feature aims to keep the sound volume of each television channel the same, even if each channel is broadcasting at different levels or compression ratios. It's a convenience handy feature.
Sharp's Double Dynamic High Quality Picture Circuit is a bit of a mouthful, but describes a combination of separate technologies that aim to maintain picture quality and meet the increased demands of digital technology such as DVD.
The Sharp competes well in a congested area of the colour television market. The image produced is very appealing and easy on the eyes. Importantly, and reflections notwithstanding, the set maintains a good portion of its performance across a wide range of ambient and reflected light conditions.
It has a distinct un-electronic appearance, which is good. Colour balance is even and fills the screen. There's competent separation between There's a good colour balance across the screen, pretty good edge integrity and good colour separation between saturated areas.
There's good depth of colour for a (more or less) standard television - and my experience is it will keep producing the goods for many years without hassle. There are plenty of connection facilities for even esoteric needs and the component video is a big plus in my book.
A good looking television with component video input for DVD, a simple remote control, nice, flat screen appearance and competent sound system. It leans towards a softer, more natural picture quality which is detailed and inviting.
