The TC68PS11A is a 68cm flat screen television (Quintrix F picture tube) that's loaded with sound and image features by maker Panasonic, including a reflex cabinet system which is designed to enhance audio by extending bass response and improving the stereo effect from the 30 watt sound system.
 Panasonic has used proprietary and digital image technology such as : a Super Shadow Mask (black mask) for contrast enhancement and image depth; DAF (Digital Astigmatism and Focus Correction) for sharpness across the full length and width of the screen, and for enhanced brightness: enlarged crystal pigment phosphors.
Picture improvement technology includes Digital Al Naturalizer, a premium Panasonic image feature that preserves the sophistication and nuance of natural colour and twin (PAL and NTSC) digital comb filters that remove flicker and sharpen image detail.
The manufacturer's claim that the image remains sharp across the entire screen including the perimeter stood the viewing test very well.
Even in a marginal reception area text was focused and easy to read. Broadcast television programs were displayed with good colour balance and a sense of perspective and a modicum of depth too. The TC68PS11A produces images from DVDs that are clear without discernable blur during fast motion sequences.
Features include digital image enhancement technology, a stereo sound system with 30 watt sound output, DVD (component video) input, simple set-up and personal preference control and a Universal remote control.
This television is very easy to set up, with the remote and on-screen menu making individual preferences simple to set for each station or input source. There's also a healthy choice of connection facilities making this an adaptable device in home theatre applications.
The sound system adds some of that impact that we've come to expect from a full home theatre sound system. This is a good approximation of stereo and the bass extension is quite impressive. The minimalist silver-finish cabinet is very attractive indeed.
This television definitely performs very well. The images are luminous and the sound earns good marks too. Well worth the investment.
