CD-R compatibility
Q. Why don't all DVD players read and play recordable CDs?
A. It's usually(but not always) because the laser or pickup in some players can't 'read' the surface of the CD-R disc because the beam doesn't reflect off the chemical dye used as the information layer in the in the CD-R technology.
